Man Charged With Possessing Gun, Drugs At New Canaan Train Station

A man was charged with allegedly possessing a gun and drugs after police responded to a Fairfield County train station on a medical call.

Robert Buckley, age 42, of Springfield, Illinois, was charged in New Canaan on Thursday, Nov. 29.

According to Lt. Marc DeFelice of the New Canaan Police, officers responded to the Talmadge Hill Train Station lot on a medical assist call.

While assisting with the medical response, officers discovered drugs and drug paraphernalia, DeFelice said. Officers also located a firearm.

Buckley was placed under arrest and charged with:

  • Illegal possession of a weapon in a vehicle
  • Use of drug paraphernalia
  • Possession of a controlled substance
  • Criminal possession of a firearm
  • Carry a pistol without a permit

He was held on a $50,000 bond which he could not make and remains in custody.
